SG Diaries DAY 1

Day 1

Excited and all, everyone woke up early. We had our free breakfast which consisted of toast and coffee. We discovered Singapore’s Kaya here. Our original plan was to explore Little India but to our dismay the  Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple  that we visited was under construction.  We then went on to Mustafa Centre  where we look for pasalubong and chocolates (we didn’t buy yet). We had our lunch at Food Republic in City Square Mall Singapore. We are overwhelmed with the foods in front of us and we had a hard time to decide what to eat. ( don’t misunderstand we are not picky we just want to eat everything hahaha).

We rested for a while and waited there until the Singapore Tourist Pass office at Farrer Park station opened. We purchased our 3 day pass and went to out next destination – Bugis.

It was raining when we arrived at Bugis, but the One Dollar Ice cream lifted our spirit. We tasted various flavors and I could say that all were delicious. We purchased some souvenirs at Bugis and had some window shopping there.

Since everyone was tired and the scourging sun was upon us. We decided to have a coffee break at Starbucks near Raffles hospital but there was no space inside the air-conditioned space. We then decided to go the milk tea place adjacent to SB. The drinks were refreshing and we needed an air conditioned place to stay. We went on to Haji Lane for some photo ops of course. We really enjoyed the pictorial but we got separated because of the crowd. We are able to find each other afterwards.

Are you tired yet? Well, this is just half for today’s itinerary.

Around 5PM the sun still shining brightly, (in the Philippines it is almost sunset) we’re off to more walking escapade. We arrived at Marina Mall and at a distance we saw the magnificent Marina Bay Sands. We are in awe really, and we took photos of the view. We got lost right here. We intended to go to Merlion Park the landmark of SG but we walked further away from it. But we saw it from a distance. We rested along Marina Bay watching the sunset. Hahaha.

And we were back again to more walking towards Gardens by the Bay. We crossed Helix Bridge, saw the Singapore Flyer. We got there by 7:30 PM and the we must see both the Cloud forest and the Flower Dome before 9PM. Though the time was limited we rushed towards and Cloud forest and spent longer at the Flower Dome. We are in awe of the vast variety of flowers right in front of us.

Whoa! so much for Day 1 right?1 Just imagine we walked back from Gardens by the bay to Gluttons be the Bay to grab dinner at 11pm. We didn't managed to take any photo because we are starving to death really. It was hard to find a seat and cooking time / serving time took about 20 minutes. After we regained our strength we walked a bit to the bus station. Half of us opted to take Uber because they are dead tired. The more energetic half including me opted to take the bus and drop by Mustafa Centre for midnight snacks and some groceries.

That was our jam packed day 1.
