SG Diaries DAY 2

Image
DAY 2 After the jam packed day 1, we're out for a day of shopping and pasalubong hunting. Today's IT would include Lucky Plaza, Orchard Road, Value Dollar Store (Toa Payoh) and Chinatown. We exchanged some SGD at Lucky Plaza. Ate at our fave Food Republic, stroll and window shop at Orchard Road. Ohh and by the way we visited the Library at Orchard. (will post a separate story for this one). After lunch we headed to Value Dollar Store (Toa Payoh) via Subway. There we hoarded chocolates of every kind (literally). I didn't get a chance to take photo of the store because we are so overwhelmed with tons and tons of sweets. We snag some really cheap deals that would be impossible to have in PH. We totally had a 3 month supply of chocolates. YEY!!!! On our way to Chinatown via a two decker bus we passed by Clarke Quay and Chijmes. Initially we planned to visit these places but then we opted to just passed by. By just merely seeing them and witnessing Singapore's nig

SG Diaries DAY 3

DAY 3 was a whole day for Universal Studios Singapore. Yey! We booked our ticket for USS at Klook. https://www.klook.com/invite/SE40I?c=PHP https://www.klook.com/activity/117-universal-studios-singapore/ We arrived at USS just in time for the opening of gates and leave by the time it closes but still we are not able to see or ride everything. ( so sad) TIPS: 1. Purchase USS ticket ahead of time. 2. Arrive early!!! 3. Get a locker to put your things on. (Most of the rides doesn't allow bags and stuffs) 4. Water bottles will save your life (there are many water refilling stations inside USS) 5. Comfortable shoes and clothes is a must!!! 6. Sunblock, Cap / Hat and SUNBLOCK!!!! 7. Enjoy and scream your heart out! 8. Line up for the popular rides ( The Mummy, Battlestar Galactica) at the last minute before closing time. After entering the gates of USS we decided to rent a locker for our stuffs and our USS journey starts!!! We had took loads of photos at the entranc

After Dark by Haruki Murakami

Image
For the first time I don't want to read a review of a book. Foe people who knew me, I would often ask what happen in a certain movie or book. I wanted to know the ending, I don't care being spoiled of he story. But Murakami's work made me change sides. After reading "after dark" I totally fell in love with his wordplay. I wanted to read all of his books first hand. This is so not me. I tend to read reviews, synopsis, and plots so that I'll have a gauge of the story is about, and I want to know the ending before reading a book. (really mental right?) But I change for the better, suddenly I want that feeling of excitement, and wonder what will happen. I finished "After Dark" in one sitting  because it triggered my intellectual curiosity. It has the right blend of suspense, comedy, budding love story, family issue, and everything that me turn the page non- stop. I admire Murakami for his work and made me hate myself for reading his books only no

SG Diaries DAY 1

Image
Day 1 Excited and all, everyone woke up early. We had our free breakfast which consisted of toast and coffee. We discovered Singapore’s Kaya here. Our original plan was to explore Little India but to our dismay the   Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple   that we visited was under construction.  We then went on to Mustafa Centre  where we look for pasalubong and chocolates (we didn’t buy yet). We had our lunch at Food Republic in City Square Mall Singapore. We are overwhelmed with the foods in front of us and we had a hard time to decide what to eat. ( don’t misunderstand we are not picky we just want to eat everything hahaha).  We rested for a while and waited there until the Singapore Tourist Pass office at Farrer Park station opened. We purchased our 3 day pass and went to out next destination – Bugis. It was raining when we arrived at Bugis, but the One Dollar Ice cream lifted our spirit. We tasted various flavors and I could say that all were delicious. We purchased some

For almost seven months of preparation, from snagging the cheapest plane ticket we could get, choosing a budget friendly accommodation and saving payday by payday (hahaha), our SG trip was a blast. I wouldn’t say it was a hassle less trip or a perfect getaway but it truly sparks a new adventurer in me.  Being the wanderlust that I am, I volunteered to do the itinerary and all the stuffs related to our trip simply because I enjoyed doing so. I love the feeling of planning and imagining what to do when we are already there. This is my first international trip without my ever loving parents who really triggered the wanderer in me. (I love you both). It was both thrilling and liberating I could say, and the girls I’m with were crazy, fun and spontaneous. Really, experiences are great when you share it with equally crazy people.  Thank you girls for putting up your energy and never gets angry whenever we got lost, unable to disembark at  our stop or went the opposite direction to o

BTS x ARMY

Image
Its been  months now that I came across BTS in facebook. I cant really remember exactly how, perhaps random searches and all or because I liked so many Korean related pages and somehow it popped up. But ever since then, I started to like this boys so much. I adore them instantly and I proclaimed myself a true blue ARMY (BTS's fandom name). Despite the language barrier, their music captivates me in ways I cant fathom. The melody is somehow loud for my taste (my original taste per se) and I'm not a fan of hip hop and rap before. I just realized that I wanted their music, dance moves and everything. I watched the MVs and ARMY Bombs videos endlessly I cant imagine that I'll be a fangirl of boys that I cant even call as OPPA (coz im way older LOL). But they are the one that makes me happy, relieved and relax. Learning about their hardships and all, beginning from the bottom and standing right up gives me courage and hope to do so as well. I never connect t

FIRST BLOT

I once believed that I love writing that’s why I’ve been the editor in chief of the school newspaper for about 6 years. I also dream of being a writer of Cosmo Or Chalk magazine since I adore them so much back in the days (I have the stash of collections back at home). Magazines are my comfort reads since I learn new stuffs from them. Then I turn to school books (im a nerd). Then novels and I stack my entire reading haul to read during summer and school break. Then read ‘em all when I passed the board exams. I love reading so that I can tell stories too. Then life happens… meddling with life and work and work and life. I became a stone, lifeless (somehow), robotic (perhaps), and went around circles of my own little world. These went on, until lately life started to crawl back up to me. I feel a heartbeat, and I breath long and hard. This is my way back to my first love, to something I forgot, something I set aside but somehow it keeps coming back to me in times l
